PANAF 1 BENEFITS
COMPARATIVE STUDY
A comparative study was conducted at NWU Faculty of Natural Sciences. The graph (below) depicts the progression of Nematode eggs over a 3,5 month period.
The cycles assumed 4 hatching intervals during this period.
Egg assay was done at the end of the study, and values between Begin and Cycle 4 were calculated on a log scale. PANAF 1 was only applied during Cycle 1. This explains the lower value for eggs (-56%) at the end of Cycle 1. Thereafter remaining eggs will continue to multiply at the same rate as the control. Clearly, the ideal would be to treat plants at least once during each subsequent hatching cycle.
Application was done by spraying leaves. In a previous study a comparison was done by applying PANAF 4 (Inoculant) to the roots of seedlings. After 58 days the assay for the control plant was up from the initial 1000 eggs to 129000, whereas the Plant treated with PANAF 4 increased to 49000 only (a 62% reduction)..
This clearly indicates the need for a combined approach where seedlings will benefit from root treatment with PANAF 4, and thereafter during each hatching cycle with PANAF 1.
